Signatures of Quark-Gluon Plasma Phase Transition in High-Energy Nuclear Collisions

چکیده
In high-energy nuclear collisions, the new phase of the quark-gluon plasma is indicated by an anomalous increase in pressure, an excess of direct photon production, an excess of strangeness production, and an anomalous J/ψ suppression. We review these signatures and discuss how recent high-energy heavy-ion experiments at CERN are consistent with the production of the quark-gluon plasma in high-energy Pb+Pb collisions.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions
By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

We discuss possible experimental signatures of forming a Quark-Gluon plasma in high energy nuclear collisions. In first order phase transitions such as the chiral symmetry restoration supercooling may lead to density fluctuations such as droplet formation and hot spots. These will lead to rapidity fluctuations event-by-event and triggering on such fluctuations will have distinct effects for HBT...

We investigate the energy loss of quark and gluon jets in quark-gluon plasma produced in central Au+Au collisions at RHIC energy. We use the physical characteristic of initial and mixed phases, which were found in effective quasiparticle model for SPS and RHIC energy [5]. At investigation of energy loss we take into account also the production of hot glue at first stage. The energy loss in expa...

The strong interaction between heavy quarks and the quark gluon plasma makes the open and hidden charm hadrons be sensitive probes of the deconfinement phase transition in high energy nuclear collisions. Both the cold and hot nuclear matter effects change with the colliding energy and significantly influence the heavy quark and charmonium yield and their transverse momentum distributions. The r...
متن کاملRelativistic Hydrodynamics for Heavy–Ion Collisions II. Compression of Nuclear Matter and the Phase Transition to the Quark–Gluon Plasma†
We investigate the compression of nuclear matter in relativistic hydrodynamics. Nuclear matter is described by a σ − ω–type model for the hadron matter phase and by the MIT bag model for the quark–gluon plasma, with a first order phase transition between both phases. In the presence of phase transitions, hydrodynamical solutions change qualitatively, for instance, one-dimensional stationary com...
